Nearly seven years after its initial Kickstarter, Star Citizen has raised more than $300 million from players. As of this writing, 2,711,428 people have pledged a total of $300,145,173, most of them for expensive digital spaceships for amounts that would make the average person question their life choices.

In December, Cloud Imperium Games broke the $250 million mark, earning roughly $11 million in a particularly strong month, after which monthly player investments dropped to "only" 5 or 6 million. In May, however, the monthly total suddenly jumped to over $15 million, which, as Altchar.com points out, may be due to the release of the Drake Complete Pack 2950.

Currently, Star Citizen's Alien Week focuses on extraterrestrials and their ships on the stage.
