Goat Arms Dealer and Cute Vegetables in Action Village Builder "Drake Hollow

Gameplay footage of the new "Drake Hollow" game has been released on Guerilla Collective's stream. First announced last year, Drake Hollow is a new game from The Molasses Flood, the studio behind The Flame in the Flood.

In this single or multiplayer cooperative game, you help little vegetables called Drakes build a village to protect themselves from other cursed vegetables called ferals. They are so adorable that any sensible person would give his or her life for these vegetable cuties. The vegetables need all kinds of nourishment and entertainment to survive, they need walls to shelter against, and defenses for when you're not there. The game is a combination of third-person shooter, survival craft, and tower defense.

Here's the segment:

In the new gameplay, creative director Forrest Dowling plays through a defense scenario in the game's campaign mode for about seven minutes. After recovering a special seed from another mission, the player character gives it to a goat, which appears to be some sort of magical arms dealer or weaponsmith, who summons a pack of evil ferals to battle. The combat is a bit of third-person shooter and a bit of melee combat, with well-timed dodging to avoid enemy attacks. Once you die and respawn, and defeat the boss, you get a box with loot and can collect rewards.

Drake Hollow will be released on Windows 10 and Steam on July 17. More information can be found on the game's website.
