Steam page for Oblivion's huge mod Nehrim opens

German modder SureAI was responsible for Enderal, an overhaul of Skyrim that added an entirely new setting, story, and set of RPG mechanics to Bethesda's RPG Before Enderal, they modded Oblivion Nehrim, and made similar conversions to previous Elder Scrolls games: like At Fate's Edge.

Like Enderal, Nehrim now has its own Steam page. This means it has a wider audience than those who hang out on modding sites, with their track record, user reviews, and all that. All voices will remain in German, but English, French, and Russian subtitles and UI are available, and Japanese will be supported.

Nehrim is not as welcoming as Enderal, with a long tutorial dungeon that you have to go back to once you think you've escaped. Once you get past that, you'll find a charming RPG that leans more toward Gothic than Elder Scrolls. The game is complete with trainers who will teach you new skills in exchange for experience and points earned when you level up. There is no scaling, and the map tells you straight up which areas are appropriate to enter and at what level.

This is a more hardcore experience, an Oblivion mod for those who hate Oblivion. It puts a lot of effort into the main storyline, which takes over 30 hours to complete.

If you are looking for Enderal, this is it. Note that the settings are the same, but you don't have to play either of them first.
