Motherboard manufacturers are preparing to release new models featuring AMD's B550 chipset, and in anticipation of their launch, MSI has announced a campaign that allows users to deposit up to $60 in funds into their Steam wallet.

To redeem the Steam credits, customers must purchase select MSI B550 motherboards and Ryzen 3000 series desktop processors. The promotion runs from June 16 through August 31, 2020 or while supplies last.

This suggests that the B550 motherboards will be available for retailers tomorrow.

The amount of the Steam credit depends on the specific combination of hardware being purchased. Credit amounts range from $30 to $60 (in $10 increments) for existing Ryzen 9 and Ryzen 7 CPUs and MSI B550 Gaming Wifi, B550 Gaming Edge Wifi, B550 Gaming Plus, or B550I Gaming Edge Wifi motherboard The highest amount applies to the combination of a B550 Gaming Edge Wifi, B550 Gaming Plus or B550I Gaming Edge Wifi motherboard.

It is great that MSI is including not only high-end CPUs in this promotion, but also low-end Ryzen 3 silicon (3300 and 3300X). After all, the B550 chipset is more affordable and mainstream-oriented than the X570.
