A glitch in Fortnite seems to have revealed that the first-person view mode is fully functional.

As is always the case with Fortnite, strange things are happening, as James and Joseph wrote earlier today about the ongoing Device event, which involves a lot of water. Instead of a storm of purple electricity, there is a towering wall of water of biblical proportions. Also: electricity. Also: a sudden and inexplicable teleportation into a bleak office environment.

What you think of all this is up to you, but the event apparently caused an interesting glitch. I don't know how widespread it is, but at least one player has glitched into an authentic and fully playable first-person mode.

To be clear, this is not the existing Save The World first-person mode, which has no weapon models and is not designed to be used in actual combat. This glitch has weapon models and animations that look like they were made for first-person mode. Please see the following tweets.

Could this be an indication that a first-person mode for Fortnite Battle Royale is imminent? It's hard to imagine that a first-person perspective would work with the ridiculous high-speed building shenanigans, but given the frequency of Epic's shakedowns, it seems a non-trivial possibility.

Cheers, Gamesradar.
