AMD's New Ryzen 3000 XT Chip: Same Price, Slightly Faster, Coming July 7

The AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT, Ryzen 7 3800XT, and Ryzen 5 3600XT will be available for purchase beginning July 7. These processors are the so-called Matisse Refresh, with faster clocks than existing products of the same price. [The three new AMD Ryzen XT processors announced today are:

AMD is touting up to a 4% increase in single-threaded performance compared to the first batch of Ryzen 3000 processors, which varies widely depending on workload.

Still, at least in terms of MSRP, this processor is priced the same as the previous ones. Although a relatively small fry change in clock speed, the lack of a "T" suffix won't stop you from checking out a 3900X, 3800X, or 3600X deal.

All three processors will be available on July 7, 2020. This is exactly one year after the release of the first Ryzen 3000 processor, which introduced the chiplet-based Zen 2 architecture to gaming PCs. Since then, we haven't looked back. [The arrival of these new processors is undoubtedly an attempt by AMD to slightly beef up their lineup and increase clock speeds by utilizing a more mature process. This should allow them to take full advantage of the better binned chips now available, something they were not able to do when they first started 12 months ago. Matisse Refresh will also help maintain the focus on AMD following the release of Intel's Comet Lake CPUs and ahead of the upcoming release of Tiger Lake CPUs.

For AMD fans, the biggest releases of the year are yet to come. While recent rumors have cast a bit of a shadow over the Zen 3 release date, the Ryzen 4000 chip is still slated for release later this year.
