Before Games Pass for Windows came along and showed everyone what it should be, the leading subscription service for the PC was Origin Access.

It was one of the most extensive libraries of any service, including Battlefield, Dead Space, Dragon Age, and more. And for a limited time, the first month is only $0.99, or 99 pesos. The promotion lasts until June 29, so it will run during the EA Play Live showcase on June 18 and a few weeks after that.

However, there are a few major caveats: it is only available to those who do not currently have an active subscription (but also to those whose subscriptions have expired), and only applies to Access Basic, the lower of the two Origin Access After the first month, the subscription will be applied only to the lower of the two Origin Access Basic subscriptions. After the first month, subscriptions will continue at the regular monthly rate of $4.99/£3.99 unless you cancel your subscription prior to renewal.

Compared to Access Premiere, Basic includes Jedi: Fallen Order, Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, and NFS Heat. It's not all bad, though, as Basic includes excellent games such as "Titanfall 2," "They Are Billions," "A Way Out," the entire "Crysis" series, and "Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. ", etc.; there's also "Anthem", but nothing is perfect.

In addition to the games, Basic includes a 10-hour trial of upcoming games and a 10% discount on purchases in the Origin store. At the moment, there are no upcoming games eligible for the trial, but who knows what will be announced at EA Play.

For our console friends, EA Access, the console version of Origin Access with a smaller number of games, is also on sale for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This one, like Origin Access, runs through June 29.
