WB Games will be presenting the new work at the August DC event.

WB Games has announced that it will be participating in "FanDome," a massive digital event celebrating the DC Universe.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 22, and will run all day, with lots of announcements ranging from comics to games. It remains to be seen what will be announced, but since the release of "Arkham Knight" in 2015, there have been rumors of a new "Batman: Arkham" and other DC series being adapted into games in a similar fashion.

If a new Arkham game is announced, it will most likely be developed by WB Montreal, the developer of Arkham Origins. Hints suggest that the game may focus on the Court of Owls, or later the Parliament of Owls. They are a group of villains who, despite being fairly important and recent additions to the Batman mythos, have not yet appeared in any game, so their inclusion in the new game makes sense.

The biggest question anyone would have is what Rocksteady, developer of Arkham Asylum, City, and Knight, has been working on since 2015. Rumors suggest that the studio is adapting another DC series, but it has been confirmed that it is not Superman. Personally, I'd vote for a game based on The Flash that finally gives the speedster his due, but the DC universe is so vast that literally anything is possible. The horror-based Swamp Thing? Comical Mr. Plastic? A more magical look at the world of Arkham through the lens of Wonder Woman or Zatanna? So many possibilities.

This comes at a time when the publisher's parent company, AT&T, is reportedly considering a sale for about $4 billion.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the event is purely an online event, but you can "attend" on August 22.
