Hollow Knight's New NPC: Silksong Mystery Revealed

Hollow Knight: Since the announcement of Hollow Knight: Silksong, the sequel to PC Gamer's 2107 GOTY Hollow Knight, early last year, there has been little news about the project. A few new systems were detailed in a post-E3 summary that year, but since then Team Cherry has remained silent. A year later, the game's first NPC, a giant bug called Huntress, was discovered.

After solving a number of coded riddles that required knowledge of Hollow Knight lore and its development process, Discord members eventually obtained a zip file protected with the password "huntress". Apart from the image above, the folder contained a gif of Huntress and the main character, Hornet, and the following description:

A towering old predator, waiting for her children to arrive. Her attention is focused on her work, but she seems to know much about the declining condition of the furloom and despises the citadel above and the hapless pilgrims climbing toward it.

"Supiider, your shtench is strange but similar: ...... Do you come carrying someone else's organs? Or would you offer your own organs? Do you present the warm insides of your shell as a sweet feast for the birth of my offspring?"

Clearly, anyone who worried that the Hornet's journey to escape the Far Room would be more unpleasant than the first Hollow Knight was wrong. The riddles provided Team Cherry with a cool little community-building tool that made the release of the new game particularly exciting. Information about the new game is intentionally sparse, and these little snippets of information somehow make it all the more exciting.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has no release date.
