General
Eye of the Beholder 2, the best dungeon crawler ever, is now free on GOG.

A few years ago, I wrote about why you should play the 1991 D&D classic Eye of the Beholder 2: The Legend of Darkmoon. Well, here's another one: it's free on GOG until June 19.

"Eye of the Beholder 1" and "Eye of the Beholder 3" are fine, but EOB2 is in its element, and if you don't have the confidence to play the entire trilogy of decades-old dungeon crawlers, it's a standalone experience. It has everything a good D&D game needs: sprawling dungeons, sinister bad guys, and a clear divide between good and evil.

It's also a really tough game: and be sure to save the game just before entering the dungeon of the drow and don't rewrite it. Trust me.

The "Eye of the Beholder" trilogy is available for free on GOG to bring attention to the D&D game sale that started today: Arkadim: Curse of the Spirits, a 2003 Greyhawk game developed by Troika called "Temple of the Elemental Evil" ( not great, but has a great soundtrack), Beamdog's Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape Torment, and the Enhanced Edition of Neverwinter Nights, among other obscure games and collections, all individually 75% discount.

The sale comes in advance of D&D Live 2020: a two-day live stream hosted by Wizards of the Coast for Red Nose Day, a charity dedicated to helping children affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Donations will be collected.

GOG's D&D sale ends June 25, but the Eye of the Beholder 2 giveaway is only open until June 19 at 1 p.m. ET.
