Monstrous 2 has a nightmarish premise: You are trapped in a labyrinthine, deserted sea fortress with three other prisoners. But worse awaits you. To escape this menace, you must work with your fellow prisoners to outwit the beast.

The four-on-one horror formula will ring a bell with players of "Dead by Daylight," "Friday the 13th," and more recently "Resident Evil: Resistance." However, Monstrum 2 has some interesting innovations. The sea fortress is procedurally generated, so unfamiliar territory awaits you on every escape or chase.

The final game features a variety of monsters. All are derived from "failed deep-sea experiments" and each has its own unique strengths. As for the prisoners, the emphasis is on stealth and evasion, so don't expect them to band together and shoot enemies like bullet sponges. It is not a shooter.

If the horror sounds appealing, Monstro 2 has a closed beta available. A new trailer has also been released. If you don't have access to the closed beta, the full game will be available in late 2020.
