This War Of Mine" is added to the reading list of a Polish high school.

Developer 11bit announced today that its gritty survival game "This War of Mine" has been recommended by Polish high schools as a learning tool for many subjects, including ethics, philosophy, and history. According to the developer, this is the first time the game has appeared on a school reading list. [This is especially significant because "This War of Mine" was not designed specifically as an educational game. The decision to use games in the same way as literature and film underscores the growing awareness of games and the themes they address.

"We are proud that the work of 11-bit Studios can contribute to the educational and cultural development of our country," says CEO Grzegorz Miechowski. This will be a landmark moment for all artists creating games around the world."

Due to its sensitive subject matter, "This War of Mine" has received the PEGI 18/M ESBR label and can only be played in classes with students over the age of 18.

"This War of Mine" is intentionally esoteric. Set in a country at war, players take control of various characters and help them find food, weapons, and things to sell in a mostly black-and-white environment. According to our review, there is never enough of anything to find, and that is the point. This experience will stay with students for a while.
