Apex Legends' Lost Treasures Collection Event Begins Tuesday

Yesterday's EA Play Live 2020 kicked off with the exciting news that Apex Legends is coming to Steam and will be available for cross-play, as well as the announcement that next week from June 23 to July 7, the "Lost Treasures" Collection event will take place:

Respawn had recently hinted that a new town takeover was in the works, and now they have finally confirmed that Crypto will be taking the lead. Crypto's map room promises to give players more insight into his motivations, so we will likely learn a bit more about his past. His new top-of-the-line lair will be equipped with a large number of screens, a digital 3D map of Kings Canyon, and a giant green satellite, as befits the high-end high tech we usually see.

Judging from the event trailer and the area where banners and flags have recently sprung up, it appears that the new town takeover will be located near Repulsor. Also, at the end of the new trailer, the Crypt opens one of the bunkers that mysteriously appeared on the Kings Canyon map at the beginning of Season 5. Given that the bunker, sandwiched between salvage and water treatment, already has a countdown timer in place, we will likely get a closer peek at its contents next week.

Armed and Dangerous-Apex's limited-time shotgun and sniper mode is back for this event, but refreshed for the better, rewarding sharpshooters who play more aggressively and deal more damage. The only armor available in this mode will be Evo armor. You can start with 25 shields, which gives you more incentive to get into the firefight. Given the power of the longbow, especially the pinch that the shotgun is forced to use at close range, it is obvious that players will quickly reach the red Evo armor level in the upcoming matches.

Although respawn beacons have been eliminated in this mode, there are still ways to recall teammates to the battlefield. All players begin the match with a mobile respawn beacon in their inventory. These beacons deploy like lifelines and can be placed anywhere they wish, but can only be used once. The mobile beacon will be limited to Armed and Dangerous Evolved mode during the event, but will become a permanent feature in Casual and Ranked Apex matches after the event. Joining the regular loot pool and taking up one inventory slot, these mobile beacons seem incredibly powerful.

If you have already completed Apex's daily and weekly Battle Pass challenges, there are also a number of Lost Treasure tasks available. New challenges are also updated daily, with up to 1000 points per set. Here's a breakdown of the Lost Treasures prize tracks:

As always, new events mean new cosmetics, and the Lost Treasures event will feature 24 themed skins that can be purchased with apex coins or craft metal. The Event Apex Pack contains one event item and two non-event items. If you're into golden guns and trinkets, now is the time to stock up on a 24-karat wardrobe.

The heirloom of the event is a shiny Mirage trophy that perfectly reflects his confident personality. It comes with a small firework and a light. To get this trophy, you must first unlock all 24 Lost Treasures items, which is quite painstaking. If you don't get it during the event, don't worry about it, as you will be able to craft it in the Heirloom Craft Shop afterwards.

In the unlikely event that you have some apex coins to spare, seven cosmetics will be added to the second "Special Offers" tab in the store. These will only be available during the event and will not return to the store for at least six months, so if you like what you see, you might as well get it now.
