EEK3, the most popular event of E3, took place earlier today at the site of a former shopping mall on the edge of town. Despite the inclement weather, with fog causing drawing distances to be at an all-time low and scanlines to drop up to 40%, the turnout was good, with many participants relying on CRT filters for safety.

Well, enough said. What actually happened was that the fine folks behind the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc 2020 assembled a showcase of indie games that shared a low-poly horror aesthetic. Trailers for over 40 upcoming and recently released games were shown during a short bumper session moderated by skeletons and ghosts.

The main ones included "Conscript" (WWI survival horror), "The Lunar Effect" (Silent Hill-style puzzle horror), "Cellular Harvest" (sci-fi pokemon snap), "Signalis" ( retro-tech/animated cyberpunk), and "Agony of a Dying MMO" (the end of a cursed online game). But many other freaktacular goodies were included.

In addition to the showcases, there was also a virtual show floor, a 3D space where trailers popped up from arcade cabinets and characters from selected games tended stalls and enjoyed the show, in addition to being available for download from itch.io, The entire show can be viewed below.
