Massive Leak of Details on New Operators, Gadgets, and Weapon Sights for "Rainbow Six Siege

The shaky footage of Rainbow Six Siege's next two operators released a few weeks ago was a pinhole leak, but now the dam has broken and a wave of information about Seasons 3 and 4 is coming in. Sticky cameras, robotic arms, new hard breaching tools, laser grids, and even weapon sights - there is much to unravel.

These leaks seem to span both Season 3 and Season 4 of the Rainbow Six Siege Year 5 roadmap, giving us an idea of what to expect in the game over the next six months. Unverified at this time, but major additions and changes include:

The possible codename "Scout" is almost certainly the new Splinter Cell crossover operator for Siege, which Ubisoft had previously leaked and teased. In the video shared by Zer0Bytes on Reddit (embedded below), his appearance and drill camera gadget can be seen.

You can see the scout firing four drill cameras at the house walls, scrolling through independent views like Valkyrie and her camera, but the scout's camera can apparently do range damage. Without sound or effects, it is hard to see what is happening, but players can reduce their own health to 80 with a few shots from the camera.

As for the drill function, that part is also puzzling. In the video, the camera is looking outward from the wall, just like any other camera. However, the name suggests that it can drill through a soft wall and see what is on the other side. Its still very possible, but we could not see it because the camera in the video is mounted on an unbreakable wall. If he really can use the camera on any surface, the scout may prove to be the most versatile information operator in the "siege."

The video also gives us a better look at the Scout's primary assault rifle, the new SC3000K. Its shape and design is very cool, a clear homage to the SC series rifles used by Sam Fisher in his "Splinter Cell" series.

The video also reveals the Thai defender Arni, who will appear in Season 4. Previously, the bionic arm on her left arm, which can punch holes in walls, was revealed, and now we see how effective it is. It appears to be unlimited in use and can make a hole the size of a shotgun blast. It can also destroy barricades of doors and windows with a single blow, a useful trick for spawn peaks and runouts, no doubt. However, it may not be efficient for quick rotations, as wooden studs in the walls can only be destroyed if they are specifically targeted.

Her actual gadget is a laser enhancement, called the Surya Gate in earlier leaks. The first glimpse of this gadget shows a round ball attached to a doorway or wall (and possibly a window), projecting a protective laser grid. The gate automatically turns off when Aruni approaches and turns back on when he leaves. Presumably, the lasers would damage attackers trying to sneak past without destroying the gadget, but that might require a grenade, EMP, or Twitch.

It's time for Ubisoft to take a closer look at the secondary hard-breaking gadget that they have been teasing since February. This is obviously an unfinished version, but I think it represents the destructive power we can expect from this gadget. Having this kind of breaching power as a secondary gadget is definitely something that will fundamentally change the Siege meta. Nevertheless, the hole that this gadget leaves is so small that one would have to crawl through it to get through the gap.

There are still big questions to be answered, such as who gets the breaching charge (here Nøkk uses one, so there is one), whether the reinforced hatch will be destroyed, and how it will interact with the anti-bleaching defender gadget.

Ubisoft has been reluctant to add more weapon sights since the launch of Siege, but this leak shows the full collection of new sights. While it is always good to have more sights options, it is possible that these sights will have magnification options not seen in previous Siege releases. The tip is a new settings screen captured by Zer0Bytes, showing options to change the individual sensitivity of the 1x, 3x, 4x, 5x, and 12x scopes.

Surprisingly, Zer0Bytes also recorded a complete map walkthrough for the Chalet and Skyscraper rework. The map is incomplete, so expect to see missing textures and odd anomalies. The layout may change in the final version, but most of the changes seen here are expected to stick.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, here is some new content for SiegeLeakCon 2020: an elite skin for Tachanka.

Very nice. {-}7
