Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time" Official Announcement Coming Tomorrow

Following a leak from the Taiwanese ratings board, Activision has announced that the official announcement for Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time will be made tomorrow, June 22, at 8 a.m. PDT (4 p.m. EDT). The announcement tweet is accompanied by a teaser trailer reminiscent of the eerie marketing of the original 1996 game.

One could guess what "Crash 4" is about, but its subtitle seems to have spoiled it earlier: it's "It's About Time." Of course, after the enthusiastic reception of "Crash Bandicoot N. Sein Trilogy" and the "Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled" remaster, it's about time for "Crash" to make a comeback.

"Crash 4" is being developed by Toys for Bob, one of the co-developers of the "N. Sane" trilogy, the "Spyro Reignited" trilogy, and the "Skylanders" series. They definitely know how to give an old platformer a modern feel. While a new sequel could deviate significantly from the narrow platforming that the series excels at, I'm betting on a more traditional (and more beautiful) interpretation of a classic series.

Geoff Keighley will be hosting the reveal of Crash 4 (along with Crash himself) under the Summer Game Fest banner, so stay tuned for more details from his feed.

Don't forget to wear a mask when out and about.
