A modder has created a basic map editor for Overwatch.

"Overwatch" players have been clamoring for a map editor since its launch, but so far Blizzard has not allowed players to change the ever-growing number of arenas. The workshop allows players to create new rules that will have a significant impact on play, but the maps themselves have been left alone.

However, thanks to a workshop mod by Yurrod, very basic editing is now possible. The only thing you can add with this mod is walls. You can create walls of different sizes and shapes, connect them, use them for ramps, etc., and use them in more creative ways.

Since it is still in development, Yurrod has not shared the code yet, but you can see it in action in Stylosa's video below.

Walls can be used to block off paths, add cover, or even create entirely new routes and funky mazes. It seems simple, but it fundamentally changes the map - even adding just one new wall can have a significant impact - so the most important features of the map editor have already been covered.

Cheers, Blizzard Watch.
