Cyberpunk 2077 can start as a nomad living outside the city.

Last year, CD Projekt Red teased three origins that they would choose when creating the V version of Cyberpunk 2077. Andy Kelly finally got a taste of this RPG and tried one of them out.

"This vast expanse of barren desert, Joshua trees, and low-sloping hills is dotted with dried-up oil fields, scrap heaps, and rough, isolated towns. Old paved roads, built before the world went to shit, crisscross the landscape, partially buried in sand. Far off in the distance, through a dusty blue haze, one can see monolithic skyscrapers and holographic city signs."

If you want an early glimpse of the Badlands, choose "Nomad." You can explore the area no matter what you choose, but if you really like hanging out in the desert and dealing with small town sheriffs, you can start right away.

Formerly a member of a nomadic gang, you are now an outcast, working alone. One of these is smuggling into Night City, which is the path from the prologue to the main game and where you meet your partner Jackie.

Cars are also readily available. In this origin, it's a broken car, but thankfully, you've learned some mechanic skills from living with vehicles, so you can fix it up and get it on the road. From there you can drive, explore a bit, or rush to work. Once that's done, the game jumps six months and you have a new job in Night City.

The release date has been pushed back to November 19, but until then, check out our hands-on impressions of Cyberpunk 2077.
