The release of the next JRPG "Tales of" "Tales of Arise" has been postponed.

Tales of Arise, a new installment in the long-running JRPG Tales of series, was announced at E3 2019 and was slated for release sometime in 2020. Sadly for fans, that is unlikely to happen as Namco Bandai has announced that they need more time to do the job properly.

"Our goal for 'Tales of Arise' is to provide a gameplay experience that is both familiar and innovative for fans of the series, while pushing the technical envelope and allowing players who have been playing Tales of games for years, as well as those who have never played a Tales of Tales of" games, and to achieve a high level of graphic quality that will impress both players who have played "Tales of" games for many years and those who have never played "Tales of" games before. Producer Yusuke Tomizawa said, "Development of this title is steadily progressing toward 2020.

"COVID-19 affected some of our development, but we did our best to adapt to the situation and introduced remote development capabilities to our team.

Unfortunately, the developers need more time to "provide players with the gorgeous experience we envisioned," and therefore the decision was made to delay the release to 2020. At this time, no new release date has been revealed: Tomizawa said that a new date will be announced at a later date.
