This fast NVMe SSD is now only $118 for 1TB!

Prices for the best SSDs continue to plummet, meaning that for many PC enthusiasts the days of using SATA-based drives are over. For example, a 1TB NVMe SSD from ADATA is now only $117.99, and Newegg is offering a $5 gift card to buyers.

The drive on sale is a 1TB version of the XPG SX8100, which claims read speeds of up to 3,500 MB/sec and write speeds of up to 3,000 MB/sec. As long as the motherboard supports NVMe drives and has a spare M.2 slot, this drive will cost $117.99, or about 12 cents per GB.

There are not many professional reviews of this drive that have been tested in detail, but according to customer reviews, the speed claims appear to be about right: one Amazon buyer has seen read/write speeds on his desktop that are as advertised, and another buyer, confirmed about 3,000 MB/sec read and 2,900 MB/sec write.
