Original Story Famous streamer Guy Beahm, aka Dr. Disrespect, has been suspended from Twitch. His removal was made public via StreamerBans Twitter feed, and while the reason for the removal is not yet clear, his channel has definitely been removed.
Twitch did not reveal the reason for Dr Disrespect's removal, but said in a statement to PC Gamer. "Our process is to take appropriate action when we have evidence that a streamer has violated our Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. These apply to all streamers, regardless of their standing or visibility in the community."
The statement also stated.
This is not the first time a Twitch channel has suddenly disappeared. Another prominent Twitch streamer, Lirik, was suspended in a DMCA takedown in early June; Lirik's channel was restored soon after the incident.
Dr Disrespect's Twitch channel was previously suspended for two weeks in 2019 after he live-streamed from a public restroom at E3.
Update: The reason for Dr Disrespect's Twitch suspension is not yet known, but multiple sources now say it is permanent.
Streamer ShannonZKiller also tweeted: "From my sources: not just Twitch, Doc is really done. I know why but can't say. But this is serious."
She later deleted the tweet, but did not retract the statement: "Hey, I didn't want any further confirmation that it was a permanent ban without a reason, or that this tweet felt like I was chasing influence, so I respect those viewpoints and deleted the tweet. I will do so."
She later deleted the tweet, but did not retract the statement.
Kotaku also reported that an anonymous "source close to Twitch" told them that the suspension was permanent.
We will keep a close eye on the situation and update again as more information becomes available.
Update: Dr Disrespect stated via Twitter that "Twitch has not informed me of the specific reasoning behind their decision."
Twitch has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
