Astronor's Automation Update Makes the Coldest Exploration Game Even Colder

The very relaxing space survival and exploration game "Astroneer" is already very relaxing by adding an all-new base automation feature and some sweet new cosmetic upgrades, so it's important to be somewhat more relaxed.

The new auto-extractor simplifies the process of resource gathering, making it easier to obtain the large amounts of base resources that fuel exploration of several worlds in the solar system. New automated arms and resource containers are also available to automatically move materials between refineries and crafting stations, and sensors and repeaters can be used to turn machines on and off.

Astroneer is a great little space survival game that allows you to progress at your own pace. It is more about exploring and finding new things than hardcore survival or craft optimization. One writer got me thinking about the future of utopia. Pip described it in that article as "comfortably compelling," and I agree. It's a great game to relax and I'm glad I have a reason to return.

Astroneer was first released in 2016, with a 1.0 version released last year. Since then, there have been several more content updates. You can read the full release notes or buy Astroneer on Steam for 35% off during the summer sale; for more information about Astroneer, visit the official website.
