The long-rumored Harry Potter RPG will reportedly be released in 2021.

A Harry Potter RPG developed by Avalanche Software will be released for next-generation consoles in late 2021, according to a new report from Bloomberg. Publisher Warner Bros. has not yet officially announced the game, but its existence is largely undisputed at this point.

According to two unnamed sources on the development team who spoke to Bloomberg, that 2018 video was real. The game is currently slated for release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X in late 2021, though the report makes no mention of a PC release. It is said to be an open-world "recreation of Hogwarts and the surrounding area."

The game will reportedly be released after the next Batman game, which is expected at the DC FanDome event in August. The Harry Potter RPG was supposed to be announced at E3 2020, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Indeed, things were grim for those who had high hopes for Warner Bros. A new Batman movie was teased last September, but it has not been announced since then. Shortly after, a prominent leaker suggested that the next Batman game would be titled Batman: Arkham Legacy.

More recently, Warner Bros. registered the domains for the "Gotham Knights" and "Suicide Squad" games.
