Skater XL will come with three community-made maps at launch.

The skateboarding sim "Skater XL" will be released in July. The map, Easy Day High School, was revealed earlier this month by developer Easy Day Studios as "the quintessential skateboarder's playground, capturing the atmosphere and terrain of a California schoolyard, where skateboarding has its roots." Today the studio announced that the release will also include three community-made maps, each expanded by the studio's art team.

"Since the Early Access launch of 'Skater XL,' the modding community has grown to a humbling 84,000 members who have created thousands of amazing maps, fake skate brands and gear," said Easy Day co-founder Dain Hedgpeth "Their creativity and passion inspire us. Their creativity and passion have not only inspired us, but have become an integral part of the "Skater XL" experience.

The three community-made maps that will be included with the game are:

Hedgpeth said that these three maps are "just the beginning of our plan to engage the community at launch and beyond." Numerous smaller mods, including decks, wheels, grip tape, shoes, and other apparel, are also available through Mod.io's Skater XL portal; Skater XL will be released in full on Steam on July 28.
