"Risk of Rain 2" appeared in Early Access last year and sold over a million copies in its first month. Since then, despite a slight delay in the release of the full game, the game has been going strong, bombing new areas and taking on new characters. Recent updates have also brought back artifacts, small items that adjust game rules that appeared in the first game.
Because so much has been added, the developers plan to stick to their previous statement and raise the price of Risk of Rain 2 from $20 to $25 when the 1.0 update launches in August.Risk of Rain 2 is currently on Steam's summer sale for 20% off at $16. The Risk of Rain 1.0 update will add new characters, a final stage and boss, and possibly new items and equipment. It will also rework the server browser and mercenary characters to make them a little harder to max out.
Risk of Rain 2 is a 3D third-person shooter sequel to a 2D side-scrolling rogue-like action game. It is as thrilling and challenging as its predecessor, but offers a deliciously different experience. Risk of Rain 2 can be played by up to four players in co-op, but solo play is also possible.
