30-minute gameplay video of "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" leaked

Official information about "Assassin's Creed Valhalla" will have to wait until the Ubisoft Forward event on July 12, but a 30-minute leaked gameplay video titled "Work in Progress" has been released.

The YouTube video has been removed but uploaded elsewhere. If you take a look, you will see a quest to unite the people of East Anglia to attack a castle held by one of the bad Vikings. One of the good Vikings offers a longship. The interface, inventory, and most of the combat are very similar to "Odyssey," but there are some differences. Riding through Northwick on horseback has a "Witcher 3" feel to it, and I was immediately reminded of the time I rode through Velen to meet Baron Bloody. There is a "Red Dead Redemption"-esque cinematic camera option, but along the way you bump into other riders.

After fighting wolves and gathering Anglo-Saxons who have been shown the violence inherent in the system by the Vikings' oppression, the assault begins. The scene begins with a longship approaching the ramparts during a storm, only to be shot by a burning arrow. In a battle of anachronism versus anachronism, boats full of what appears to be gunpowder deal with the stone walls, after which Avor and her troops fight their way through the city gates one after another.

The combat is familiar, with a version of the Spartan kick, but also the ability to stomp on a fallen enemy or grab a fallen weapon and throw it at the enemy, as in the trailer. He also has the special ability to throw a hatchet at multiple enemies, which has involved allies on several occasions.

The climax is a boss fight between a Viking named Rude and a hunting wolf, after which there is a moment of moral choice between saving him or finishing him off. Afterwards, we see an inventory that allows you to hide certain equipment if you don't want your helmet to show, and a skill tree that appears like a constellation, like in Skyrim, Grim Dawn, or maybe some other game I've forgotten.

There are also a few things like Climbing and Raven Vision. All of these look familiar, as this is a big game from Ubisoft.

Last we heard, the release date is "Holiday 2020." here's what we know about Assassin's Creed Valhalla.
