Rune 2" update with new quests, progressions and tutorial improvements released on PTR

Rune 2 got off to a very rough start last year, including a dispute over source code ownership, but despite that, it is still going strong and is actually in the midst of some major improvements right now. Publisher Ragnarok Game announced today that the first of a series of "narrative updates" by new developer Studio 369 has been released on the Rune 2 PTR.

The update completely reimagines the first chapter of the game, replacing the repetitive gameplay loop with the linear progression of the Age of Ragnarok. Defeating each boss advances the Age, culminating in a final confrontation with the great villain Loki in the final Age. There are also several main quests and side quests, some of which can be found by talking to villagers and exploring the world.

The tutorial has also been redesigned based on player feedback, covering everything from the basics of equipping items to crafting equipment and repairing weapons and armor. All buildings are now destructible, the respawn system has been changed, and the game pauses when opening the inventory, map, or adventure menu.

The Rune 2 PTR is open to all game owners on the Epic Games Store, but Ragnarok Game strongly recommends creating a new character for this purpose. Instructions for accessing the Rune 2 PTR are here, and the PTR patch notes are As follows.
