"Mafia: Definitive Edition," originally scheduled for release on August 28, has been delayed; Hangar 13 and 2K Games announced today that it is taking longer than expected to complete due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"From the beginning, this has been a passion project for us. Many of our developers worked on the original Mafia and we are all committed to creating an updated experience worthy of that timeless classic," they wrote on Twitter. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make 'Mafia: Definitive Edition' the best it can be for fans around the world."

The game is currently slated for release on September 25. To keep you warm until then, Hangar 13 has released a brief clip of gameplay on Twitter and will provide an "expanded" version of the gameplay on July 22.
