"Carrion," a gruesome wall-crawling horror game, will be released on July 23, Devolver Digital announced today in a presentation. Billed as a "reverse horror game" since its announcement several years ago, Carrion puts you in the role of an amorphous amalgam of tentacles and flesh, sliding through ducts and hallways to devour the unfortunate humans you unleash upon the unfortunate world.

You are a kind of The Thing-like horror, but instead of dissolving everything into new little creatures, you embrace them into your affections. It's a gruesome game. They tear you apart, eat you, and blood and bullets fly. Men with flamethrowers try to kill you, and robot suits try to kill you. You can also infect and manipulate those people, and there are mechs and flamethrowers.

Carrion is available on Steam and GOG. It will be released on July 23.
