PUBG's Remastered Sanhok and Booty Tracks Coming Soon

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is once again getting a major map overhaul in Season 8, and according to PUBG Corp, the jungle map will be rebuilt from the ground up, making it more overgrown and dangerous.

Nearly every building, tree, and rock has been reworked, and the developer boasts that both the art and design of map locations such as boot camps, abandoned buildings, and quarries have been changed. In addition to the overall changes in balance, performance, and visual fidelity, there are also a number of minor changes that will give you a very different experience when you stop by your favorite locations. Expect new ways to approach these areas, changes to the terrain and structures that affect your line of sight, and increased verticality in some towns on the map.

Some places are entirely new, while others have been removed or reworked almost beyond recognition. For example, the old docks have been replaced by the Getaway, a tourist trap boasting poolside bars, boardwalks, nightclubs, and lots of neon.

San Hoc's changes also extend to new features such as loot trucks. These AI vehicles are filled with cargo that players may be interested in stealing. When attacked, they drop their loot, so if they want the equipment they are carrying, they must be attacked. Destroying them can also yield greater rewards, such as fully customized weapons.

Jelly cans are also back, so you can throw the cans at people to set them on fire, or pour gasoline on the ground to startle people walking on it.

Season 8 also saw the start of a new ranked battle season, which changed the way scores are calculated and takes team placement into account. Ranked players will also be able to compete in Vikendi.

PUBG Season 8 will be released on July 15 on PC test servers and will officially launch on July 22 with a new Survivor Pass.
