QuakeCon At Home will host a 24-hour "Global Super Stream".

QuakeCon, Bethesda's annual convention to celebrate and promote video games developed by the company's many studios, was canceled in March when it became clear that such a large gathering was not viable for the time being. However, the show must go on, and in June it was announced that QuakeCon 2020 would take place August 7-9 as QuakeCon At Home.

Bethesda announced today that QuakeCon at Home will kick off on August 7 at 11:00 a.m. CST with the awesome name QuakeCon Digital Welcome Global Super Stream. The QuakeCon Twitch Team will also be the first to bring the global Quake community together to raise funds for charities such as COVID-19 Direct Relief, UNICEF, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, and The Trevor Project. gather online to play and share games.

The online competition will also feature the finals of the Quake Pro League 2019-2020 season. Starting at 4 p.m. Japan time on August 9, 24 players from around the world will battle it out for a share of $150,000 in prize money. And, of course, swag, including limited-edition "Dogvahkiin" and "Catodemon" T-shirts with proceeds going to Dallas and international animal charities, and a one-time-only QuakeCon At Home T-shirt commemorating the first (and organizers' only) fully remote QuakeCon available.

The full schedule for QuakeCon at Home has not yet been announced, but will be revealed "in the coming weeks." For now, prospective attendees are encouraged to get more information at quakecon.org and join the QuakeCon At Home community by visiting twitch.tv/bethesda.
