In the three-plus years since its launch, "PUBG" has sold 70 million copies; according to GamesIndustry.biz, that 70 million figure includes the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 versions.

Not surprisingly, the pace of sales has slowed since the game debuted in Early Access in early 2017, with PUBG Corp reporting sales of 50 million units in June 2018. However, in an era of very strong free-to-play competitors like Fortnite and Apex Legends, it is not at all inferior, and its community is thriving despite the loss of the battle royale spotlight. [As of last June, the game had 400 million downloads and 50 million daily active users.

PUBG Corp today announced that the game's next season, Season 8, will launch on July 22. It boasts remastered Sanhok maps and loot-filled tracks.
