When I think of "Just Cause," I think of grappling hooks, wingsuits, and blowing up big red-colored industrial buildings. Others see it and think, "This is movie material." The film is written by Derek Kolstad, creator of "John Wick," and directed by Michael Dowd.

The Canadian director has most recently worked on the Netflix film Coffee & Kareem and the 2019 "buddy cop" film Stuber, which Deadline reports will feature series protagonist Rico Rodriguez as a longtime villainous mercenary in the game Swinging, gliding, and shooting under the overall command of the "Black Hand" group, Deadline reports that Rodriguez will be accompanied by a yet-to-be-named female co-star, whose addition will give the film a "Romancing the Stone"-esque feel. will be.

I have played and enjoyed all three of the later Just Cause games, but never figured out what happened in any of them, so this film might actually be useful. The latest, Just Cause 4, had some cool weather events, but otherwise it was just a pretty boring addition to a series that is better played on a podcast.

In his review, Robert Zak wrote, "The series' sandbox mayhem is still alive and well, but it's outclassed by some pretty dated combat and design ideas."
