Destiny 2: Beyond Light" expansion delayed to November

Destiny 2's next major expansion, Beyond Light, will not see its planned September release; Bungie announced today that it has decided to delay the expansion to November due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"As the first chapter in a new expansion trilogy, Beyond Light marks the beginning of a new era for Destiny 2," wrote David "Deej" Dague, Community Manager at Bungie. We have a powerful story and great new features in store that we're excited for players to experience." As always, our goal is to make the expansion as cool and fun as possible for our fans. To that end, we will do what is best for the game and delay the release date.

"The last few months have been a challenge and will continue to be during this pandemic. We have had to work apart from each other and have learned to create together in new ways. Despite these hurdles, we are committed to the same level of quality that our fans have come to expect."

The Beyond Light expansion is currently scheduled for delivery on November 10, and the current Season of Arrivals will also be extended through that date; according to Deej, Bungie will be sharing more information in the coming weeks about what is happening with Beyond Light and how this extension will affect Season of Arrivals and how it will affect the Season of Arrivals, and that they will reveal more details.
