Necromanda Underhive Wars" details gang warfare in a grim and dark future.

After a period of silence, "Necromunda: Underhive Wars" reappeared earlier this year for a summer 2020 release. It is still going strong, and the developers have finally released more details about how the game will be played. Necromunda is a tactical skirmish game set in Games Workshop's Warhammer 40,000 universe, and the video game adaptation is a video game companion to the genre, a tactical RPG. In the story, Necromunda is the "hive world" of humanity, where tens of billions of people labor in huge, overbuilt megacities. In Necromunda, one finds oneself deep underground in the Hive, controlling a criminal organization.

Last week, developer Rogue Factor explained some of the game's basic mechanics, such as skills and equipment, and showed off tactical and strategic overlays on a cluttered battlefield. This week, he explains how the game's various modes work, including the story-driven single-player campaign.

The single-player campaign will be a 15-mission story written by longtime Warhammer 40k author Andy Chambers. The more narrative-driven campaign also introduces the game's mechanics and Necromunda's Grim Gang, and after completing it, you will be ready to dive into the other game modes. The second campaign mode is called "Operations," which is an "infinitely replayable single-player gameplay loop" and is a more traditional looking XCOM-like metagame. There are also 1vs1 and 2vs2 online and offline schemish modes.

Rogue Factor previously made Mordheim: City of the Damned. This game was famous for being brutally difficult. Like Necromanda: Necromanda: Underhive Wars, it is a bit more forgiving, with as few as five gang members per team, but up to 20 gang members per game.
