General
Epic Games Store is now officially integrated into GOG Galaxy 2.0.

How many game launchers are on your taskbar or desktop these days? I currently have seven launchers up: the Windows Store, Uplay, Steam, Origin, Epic Games Store, Rockstar, and Bethesda launchers. I'm sure many of you have Battlenet, Itch.io, etc. cluttering up your desktops as well. It's kind of a lot!

Since last year, GOG Galaxy 2.0 has been on a mission to remove all the extra icons from your life and unify your various game libraries under a single client GOG Galaxy 2.0 will make it easier to access and manage your games and to access and manage your various We've done a pretty good job of including subscriptions to gaming services and friend lists that are spread across different clients.

Until today, Xbox Live was the only service officially integrated with Galaxy, but now the Epic Games Store has also joined the GOG Galaxy family. the Epic Store, like the other clients, was already integrated with Galaxy through community add-ons. This is not a particularly big shock, as they were already working together. "We are excited about the integration of the Epic Games Store into GOG GALAXY 2.0. This integration will allow players to manage their PC game libraries in a unified environment, regardless of where they purchased their games."

Tim Sweeney also added his own thoughts on the matter:

That may be a bit rich coming from a powerful intermediary with an exclusive deal to sell a number of games available only on the Epic Games Store (usually for a year). However, the reason my Epic library is so well-stocked now is because Epic distributes free games on a weekly basis.

Maybe it's time to give GOG Galaxy 2.0 a real try, if only to get rid of a few icons before my taskbar fills up completely.
