For Honor" free to play this weekend

There has been little good news from Ubisoft of late, but people still like free stuff, so "For Honor" will be the next title available to play for free for a limited time.

You can play the game for free through Uplay starting July 23 at 9 a.m. ET/2 p.m. ET. Preloading is available now.Since its initial release in 2017, "For Honor" has grown significantly, adding new content such as new heroes, a new 4vs4 siege, and the Marching Fire expansion. However, despite the variety of battle modes, the PC version of "For Honor" has a somewhat hobbled player base. This is not unusual for Ubisoft titles as a whole, but it may be the reason for the free weekends.

"For Honor," like other Japanese RPGs like "Monster Hunter: World," offers limited-time events. The game has gotten much better over the years, but players still talk about server issues and the fact that For Honor is not an easy game to get into nowadays, with many experienced opponents.

Still, it remains a great fighting game and offers a very unique take on intense one-on-one combat, making it a great way to spend a weekend. If you decide to purchase "For Honor" during the free period, your progress will automatically carry over.
