Roblox is now the game of choice for more than half of U.S. children

Roblox Corporation recently told The Verge that more than half of all children in the United States are now communicating through Roblox. The global COVID-19 pandemic led to a surge in active users in both March and April, reaching two-thirds of all U.S. children under the age of 16. Since then, that number has continued to grow and now stands at an all-time high of 120 million.

Currently, Roblox is also beta testing a system called Party Place. Initially available only to Roblox developers, the private Party Place server was first made available inexpensively for private events and is now set to be available completely free of charge. on April 18, Roblox will launch Party Place to host a large One World virtual concert.

With the pandemic in the U.S. still showing no signs of abating, it is no wonder that children are increasingly looking for ways to keep their social distance and spend time with friends. Founded in 2004, Roblox's most popular games have been played millions of times. Players can participate in racers, obstacle courses, etc., and the games are primarily aimed at younger players. In addition, in-game items can be purchased using Roblox currency called "Robux."
