Hopes that cars would appear early in "Fortnite" have been dashed, as Epic said yesterday on Twitter that it will still be a few weeks before cars actually appear in the game.

The prediction that the car would appear on July 21, courtesy of data mining firm HypeX, did not pan out, but with the mention of filling up the car in this week's challenge, it seemed likely that it would appear this week. Unfortunately, however, that did not happen.

There is no further word on when the cars will be available, but it is not at all surprising that Epic is taking its time: the shopping cart and hamster ball had to be temporarily disabled during rollout due to a bug, and the mech has a habit of spontaneously exploding. (Maybe not so much if you were sitting inside at the time.) The developers probably want to avoid this nonsense this time around.
