Dota 2's US East Matchmaking Server Down Because Someone Cut Cable

Dota 2 and CS:GO players in eastern North America may notice that today's matchmaking is a little rougher than usual. For once, someone isn't trying to cause problems with a DDoS attack: according to the official Dota 2 Twitter account, the problem is that someone cut the cable somewhere.

According to Twitter user wp494nerws (via PCGamesN), the issue is also affecting Team Fortress 2 and CS:GO, though neither account has officially reported any problems. Since these games seem to automatically redistribute queued players, the problem may not be immediately noticeable, but it could result in higher in-game latency.

It has not yet been announced when this issue will be fixed, but we will keep an eye on this issue and let you know when the all-clear rings.
