The seemingly impossible conditions for nuclear disarmament in "Metal Gear Solid 5" have been met.

Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain allows players to develop and stockpile nuclear weapons. Possessing nukes gives you a PF grade, and they are also useful for stopping other players from invading the mother base. Nukes do a lot of damage.

But nukes are also bad for obvious reasons. When all online players reduce their nuke stockpiles to zero, a special cutscene will occur. This cutscene was accidentally triggered on PC in 2018, and no platform has succeeded since then; PS3 players have succeeded in disarming themselves seemingly legitimately and perfectly.

This is no ordinary feat. Everyone playing on a PS3 in a particular region must have destroyed their nukes or else they would not have developed them in the first place. As of this writing, there are 19,262 nukes on Steam, 2,494 on PS4, and (sadly) 52 on PS3.

Here's a cutscene of the PS3:

It is reasonable to assume that there are far fewer players on PS3 than on PC or PS4. Call me a pessimist, but the fact that PC players still own 20,000 nukes in a five-year-old game does not give me hope. But at least there are some great ones, like Doom in Minecraft.
