On August 13, when A Total War Saga: Troy is released, Creative Assembly will launch three Total Wars. The developer teased what will be added to each of the strategy titles later this year on its developer blog in July.
Troy in particular is looking to have a busy year, starting with the Amazoness DLC in September; if you sign up for Total War Access, you can get this DLC for free, but it will only be available for a limited time. It will also be available for mods on the Epic Games Store.
Blood and Glory, possibly Gore DLC will appear in October and add some free DLC, Artemis, possibly a god to the pantheon in the game. Multiplayer will begin in November. Ajax and Diomedes will join the heroes in the winter, and more free god DLC will be added.
Most of Three Kingdoms' previous DLC has added new chapters to the campaign, focused on specific flashpoints of conflict like the Yellow Turban Rebellion, and added new events, factions, and characters. However, the next DLC, the first expansion for the Three Kingdoms, will introduce an entirely new faction to the war. The Southern Barbarians will shake up the South, and while Creative Assembly has yet to reveal details about this faction, they will no doubt be led by Meng Huo, the rebel leader who transformed into a king in the Three Kingdoms.
Along with the Nanbans, the expansion finally introduces the Battle of Gate Pass, which will place more settlements on the campaign map near the narrow passages to create more interesting battles and make certain locations easier to defend.
Warhammer 2, which I'm sure will never stop bringing in DLC, also has a focus on Wood Elves; if you just picked up Warhammer 2, you get a pair of lords and their respective factions, with unique mechanics and objectives in Eye of the Vortex You'll be able to play through the campaign. This is the first time that a race from the previous DLC will be playable in the sequel's campaign. All players will also get an unreleased free hero.
If you have both Warhammers, you will be able to use the new factions and units in the Mortal Empires campaign, where the Wood Elves have also been reworked. On the other hand, owning the Realm of the Wood Elves DLC adds loads just for Mortal Empires and gives you new units, variants, and heroes.
One thing Creative Assembly isn't ready to talk about yet is the upcoming Total War; Three Kingdoms was released just last year, so we won't hear about the core historical game for a while yet, but what about Warhammer What about "Warhammer"? Warhammer 2 was released nearly three years ago, exactly one year after the first game, and nothing has been said about the final game in the series. So far, the team has been content to expand on the Warhammer 2 and Mortal Empires campaigns with a lot of DLC, making the game fairly comprehensive at this point.
Creative Assembly, not surprisingly, stated that the coronavirus has complicated things and stopped them from announcing a new game.
