20XX," "Barony," and "Sword & Sworcery" Free All Week at Epic Games Store

Fresh freebies have arrived in the Epic Games store. And if it didn't, I'm here to fill in the blanks.

First up is 20XX. It's a roguelike action-platformer that bears more than a passing resemblance to "Mega Man." That's no coincidence: a 2014 Kickstarter campaign described the game, then known as "Echoes of Eridu," as "Mega Man and roguelike in one," with the addition of multiplayer.

The second was "Barony," a first-person retro roguelike featuring Herx, an evil undead baron who has enslaved an idyllic hamlet town. Guess who cleans up this mess? (Hint: It's you.) Inspired by games like "Ultima Underworld," "Daggerfall," and "System Shock," the game supports solo play and up to four players in co-op.

And finally, there are the Superbrothers: Sword&Sworcery EP, Capy's critically acclaimed "exploratory action adventure" about the harrowing mission of a wandering warrior monk.

All three games are free to play until August 6, at which point Wilmot's Warehouse will take its place. In case you don't know, Hollow Ponds and Richard Hogg, the developers of Wilmot's Warehourse, are collaborating on a new project called I Am Dead, a lovely puzzle adventure game starring museum curator Morris Lupton and his dog Sparky.

There are others available for free, so be sure to check out our list of free games available right now.
