Earlier this month, Fraser made his displeasure with Ubisoft's treatment of the Splinter Cell series known, describing the shabby treatment of Sam Fisher and friends as an "elaborate act of trolling," which has been tormenting fans for seven years. Well, folks, I'm here to tell you that it's not over yet: while there is still no sign of a new Splinter Cell film, Variety reports that UBI has signed a deal with Netflix to produce an animated Splinter Cell series
and that the film will be released in the fall.
The series will be written by John Wick co-creator Derek Kolstad, who has a number of other game-related projects under his belt, including a Just Cause movie, a TV series based on My Friend Pedro, and a Hitman series for Hulu. Hitman series for Hulu, and many other video game-related projects. Kolstad will also serve as executive producer, and according to the report, 16 episodes for two seasons have been ordered.
Splinter Cell, a stealth action game about modern ninjas, perfectly voiced by Michael Ironside (with Eric Johnson briefly appearing in 2013), debuted about 20 years ago and for a while was one of Ubisoft's most famous series It was. However, his last full-fledged game was 2013's "The Blacklist," and while there have been numerous comeback rumors and unveilings since then, the only real sightings of him have been brief cameos (Ironside is back) and, more recently, an appearance in Fraser's angry upcoming mobile game "Elite Tactics '' is the only appearance in the game.
Neither Ubisoft nor Netflix have commented on Variety's report, but we have contacted both companies and will update if we hear back.
