Anthem" Update Reveals Some of the Changes Associated with the Redesign

It's been several months since BioWare announced that they had begun looking into what was wrong with Anthem and how they intended to fix it. Today, BioWare has begun to share its findings, giving us an idea of what to expect. Mainly more loot.

According to BioWare, equipment and loot is what Anthem players wanted to hear the most, and here it is. While it may not be as flashy as the new factions, Anthem's biggest problem is fundamental and not a lack of pirates. But given that this is the first detailed developer update since the redesign was announced, I was hoping for something a little sexier than a few bullet points about loot.

Loot drops are more frequent, all items are better and more competitive, and all loot rarities have value. A little RNG can be avoided through quests, specialty vendors, and unique loot tables. If you like a particular piece of equipment, you can level it up to keep it effective, and you won't find items that have become useless due to lack of inscription. These are generally good things, but nothing that makes me think I need to go back to Anthem and give it another chance.

Below is a full list of loot items that BioWare is working on:

However, loot is only part of the redesign; BioWare says they have already made some improvements to gunplay and are currently exploring proximity items and builds. It is unclear when the changes will take effect, but given the apparent scale of the redesign and the fact that the team is working from home, it will likely take some time to complete.
