More than one million players have tried "Grounded".

According to game director Adam Brennecke, Obsidian Entertainment's just-released backyard survival sandbox Grounded has reached more than one million players in its first 48 hours. It is also the top-selling game on Steam's Early Access despite Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass service.Brennecke announced Grounded's player count achievement in an unpublished YouTube video.

"We've had over a million players check out our backyard. The team is very happy and we are just overjoyed with all the support we have received."

Brennecke also announced that the game will receive monthly updates. He said, "The first monthly update is scheduled for August 27th, so stay tuned for more details on that update.

"Grounded" was released this week and has obviously struck a chord with more than a few people. The game is your standard survival game, but instead of being an adult trapped in the wilderness, you are a child reduced to the size of an ant. Our own Christopher Livingston writes, "There is something wonderful about everyday objects that not only exist in the world, but take on new meaning because they are so small. Finding discarded empty soda cans is more than just a visual gimmick. You can read more of his thoughts here.

"Grounded" can be purchased for PC with Xbox Game Pass or as part of a subscription service for $30 on Steam.
