If your Windows 10 PC suddenly feels slow, Microsoft wants to hear from you.

For over a month now, some Windows 10 users have been complaining about poor performance after applying certain updates, and it has finally caught Microsoft's attention. That's the good news. The bad news? Microsoft needs more people to file bug reports to figure out exactly what is going on.

"I spoke with Missy Quarry on the Edge team and they are looking into this issue. However, we need more information to be submitted from the Windows 10 Feedback Hub," a moderator wrote on Microsoft's community forum (via Windows Latest). [The issue is related to an automatic update, KB4559309, which replaces an older version of Edge with a version built around Chromium.

Something in this update seems to be confusing some Windows 10 PCs. One user stated that his PC became "unbearably slow" after installing the update, with complaints ranging from extended boot times to reduced frame rates in games.

Usually, in this type of situation, the best option is to uninstall the offending update while Microsoft works on a fix. However, KB4559309 is permanently installed on your PC and cannot be removed unless you perform a System Restore.

If you have avoided applying updates up to this point, one way around this problem is to download and manually install an updated Edge browser.

On the other hand, if it is too late and your PC seems to be running slower than usual, Microsoft is asking you to contact them. You can submit a bug report by going to Start > Feedback Hub, clicking Report a Problem, and following the prompts.
