General
Moose Life, a psychedelic trance shooter by Jeff Minter, is out this month.

Jeff Minter's studio, Rama Soft, is releasing another strange shooter this month. The game is both exciting and extraordinarily strange. I'll let the game's official description tell you why: "A trippy and exhilarating voxel arcade shooter, specifically designed to take you to a happy, trance-out pleasure zone filled with deer and mushrooms. The trailer is excellent, and the jokes it contains are also excellent." While "Invincibull" is a good par, "Cervus with a smile" is absolute gold.

Moose Life is a classic arcade shooter with a great soundtrack. Like all of Jeff Minter and Llamasoft's work, the game is designed to evoke a trance-like flow experience while playing. You can even track your high scores; "Moose Life" is also available in a VR version. It's a good thing that the game is not a "trippy, psychedelic trance shooter," because nothing says "trippy, psychedelic trance shooter" quite like forgetting the entire world for a while.

Jeff Minter is a longtime luminary who has been involved in game development since 1981 and is best known for his various shooters, especially the classic "Tempest" and its sequels. He is especially a fan of Attack of the Mutant Camels.

Moose Life will be released on Steam on August 12.
