Baldur's Gate 3" Early Access will not begin in August.

The Early Access launch of "Baldur's Gate 3" was expected in August. Maybe. At least, hopefully: Larian CEO Swen Vincke said in June that the studio is pushing production hard, but that the COVID-19 pandemic could cause delays.

"We are hit just like everyone else in the world," Vincke said. Nonetheless, we have made a lot of progress."

In August, Larian was forced to reconsider Vincke's optimism. The studio announced today on Twitter that it will not be ready for an Early Access release in August, but that it is "right around the corner." The official release date and other "big news" will be revealed at a "panel from hell" on August 18, where Vincke, Geoff Keighley (of course), and members of Larian's development team will participate.

The Panel from Hell can be seen on Larian's Twitch channel and on YouTube's Summer Games Fest channel. Also, the countdown is ticking on baldursgate3.game, but there are still two weeks to go. Instead, you can turn your attention to the latest update for Baldur's Gate 3. Here's a look at some of what you can expect from combat and stealth at the Early Access launch.
