AMD has released new Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition drivers for Radeon GPU owners, and with it, game optimizations. The release notes' biggest claim is that Radeon RX 5700 XT owners will see up to a 9 percent increase in frame rate when playing "Grounded" with the Epic preset.

This is one of three games for which the new 20.8.1 driver is optimized. The other two include Hyper Scape and Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, but AMD makes no specific performance claims for these titles.

Aside from performance tweaks, the latest drivers also fix several other issues. They include:

The list of known issues is down to less than a dozen, and there are fewer references to black screen issues than in some of AMD's previous driver releases. This time there are only two. One of them affects the Enhanced Sync feature, which may cause black screens in some games, and the other is a general message from AMD regarding this issue.

"AMD continues to closely monitor and investigate new reports of black screens and system hangs during extended gameplay. Users are encouraged to use the new bug reporting tool for any issues they may encounter," AMD stated.

The bug reporting tool is a relatively recent addition to the Radeon Software utility. More precisely, it is an integrated bug reporting tool. The ability to report bugs has been around for some time, but instead of taking users to the AMD website, the integrated tool allows them to report bugs more quickly and easily from the software itself.

The latest GPU drivers can be downloaded from the software or installed manually from the AMD website.
